Context

London South Bank University needed a redesigned digital experience for their Clearing 2025 campaign. The challenge was to deliver a clear, user-friendly interface under significant time and budget constraints, while meeting strict Clearing deadlines.


Role

I acted as Lead UI Designer, collaborating closely with a Senior UX Designer, the implementation team, project manager, key stakeholders, and the client.


Challenges

Process

  • Partnered with the Senior UX Designer to translate research insights into an intuitive user interface.

  • Worked in close collaboration with developers to ensure designs were practical for rapid implementation.

  • Ran design reviews with stakeholders to maintain alignment and secure swift approvals.

Solution

  • Designed a responsive, accessible Clearing homepage optimised for quick navigation and clarity of action.

  • Prioritised strong visual hierarchy to highlight key calls to action:Apply/Register and Call/Explore courses.

  • Introduced clear signposting for FAQs, course search, success stories, and student engagement features.

Outcome

  • Successfully delivered on time and within budget.

  • Enhanced visibility of key information, supporting student decision-making during a critical recruitment window.

  • Strengthened the university’s digital presence during the Clearing period.


Reflection

This project demonstrated my ability to lead design under pressure, manage constraints effectively, and work collaboratively across disciplines to achieve a successful outcome.
