Context

The NSW Rural Fire Service required a digital platform to improve communication, access to resources, and operational efficiency across districts and brigades. The OneRFS portal was designed as a centralised hub for staff, volunteers, and coordinators.

Role

I worked as the Lead UI Designer, collaborating with a Senior UX Designer, implementation team, stakeholders, project manager, and the client.

Challenges

• Ambiguity and lack of clarity from the client during the briefing and scoping phase.

Process

• Partnered with the UX Designer to interpret user needs and translate them into a clean, functional interface.

• Designed a structured, intuitive interface that prioritised quick access to essential tools (e.g. eMembership, FUEL, SharePoint).
